Islamic Terminology

Bismillaahi Rahmnir Raheem

As'salaamu Alaykum

Alhamdulilah! My blog is up and running. I have and inshaa Allah will continue to make much du'a about this. This is purely for the pleasure of Allah and inshaa Allah am looking forward to sharing ideas and benefiting from everyone. With the start of this blog, I felt the need to place something on here, that a dear companion of mine placed on her blog may Allah reward her, Ameen. Inshaa Allah, there may be non Muslims, as well as new Muslims who visit this blog, and I think it is important to place the meanings of some commonly used Islamic tterminology. You never know who may read your blog and you never want to deter someone from reading your blog simply, because they don't understand what is being said. We should never limit who we give dawah to. With that said. Here are just a few terms.

Ayaat - a verse from the Qur'an

Aameen-  " Oh Allah accept my innvocation"

As Salaamu Alaykum - Peace be upon you

Bismillaahi Rahmnir Raheem- " In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful "

Du'a- supplication or prayer to Allah

Hajj - the major Islamic Pilgrimage, which is an obligation on every Muslim. One of the Pillars of Islaam

Halaal - Something permissible in Islaam

Haraam- Something not permissible in Islaam
